6 Top Tips for Best Tunnel Cooling
July 25th, 2011 by Grow With Tyson

This newsletter (PDF download) outlines the six key points, based on both research and field experience, that are the most important things a grower can do to help birds stay cool in extremely hot and humid conditions.

  1. Keep fan shutters, blades and fan guards clean.
  2. Replace fan belts and pulleys before wear has an effect on rpm’s.
  3. Make sure there are no restrictions on tunnel airflow.
  4. Eliminate all air leaks.
  5. Keep cooling pads clean and fully wetted.
  6. Monitor and maintain wind-speed and full tunnel static pressure.
